An Award Winning Pilates Studio

A very warm welcome to the Wantage Pilates Studio – the home of real Pilates for real people!

Don’t expect to find choreographed classes here – everything that we do revolves around the belief that as individuals, we stand to gain most from Pilates when it is delivered in a small class or 1-to-1 setting.

Our studio is fully equipped with professional Balanced Body® apparatus, including Studio and Clinical Reformers, Trapeze and Wunda Chair.

Our Team

The Wantage Pilates Studio would not be where it is today without our wonderful team! It’s one of the things that sets us apart. Each instructor has a slightly different style – why not book classes with each, to find the style that suits you best?!

Hi! I’m Julia – owner of Wantage Pilates Studio. Over the past 10+ years, my goal has been to create a welcoming and personalised Pilates experience for clients in Wantage and the surrounding areas. I am a registered Buff Bones instructor, meaning I have specific knowledge in Pilates-based exercise for bone health.

In 2020 we celebrated success at the SME UK Enterprise Awards when we were awarded ‘Best Pilates Studio in Oxfordshire’. Our team is passionate, highly trained and dedicated to cultivating a fun, relaxed and supportive environment in the studio. We look forward to meeting you!

I have also undertaken Pilates-based training in:

Emily Wallace

I have had a huge love of sport from a young age, mainly as a runner and a hockey player, representing my state, Tasmania (Australia), for both sports. This continued after school life at the University of Sydney, where I continued to play both sports while I studied for my Bachelor degree in Exercise and Sports Science (BA Applied Science (Exercise & Sport Science), 2011). This fascination for health and wellbeing naturally followed me into other areas over time.

I then discovered Pilates after my father underwent back surgery in 2011, and was using Pilates as part of a rehabilitation program. Following this I went on to study a Diploma of Professional Pilates through Polestar Pilates. Through this I have discovered a whole new way to get people moving, both the healthy population as well as those with injuries. The diversity that Pilates offers has enabled me to work with people of all ages and abilities and I have found it an extremely rewarding job!

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with family and friends and being in the great outdoors. In my spare time you will find me walking my dog Reggie, swimming, water-skiing or simply chilling with a book in my hand!

I am an Independent Dance Artist and Pilates Instructor based in Wantage, Oxfordshire. I completed a National Diploma in Dance and afterwards graduated from the University of Winchester, obtaining a BA(Hons) in Choreography and Dance. Later on I qualified as a level 3 Pilates Instructor.

My Pilates classes are a combination between dynamic and subtle movements, and aim to improve balance, flexibility, coordination and alignment, while keeping a strong connection between the body and brain. I believe that conscious movement is essential to strengthen, re-educate  and rehabilitate our bodies and minds.

Melinda Nagy-Sinka

I am Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Studio Instructor and have been teaching Pilates for over 12 years. I love to show people that movement can be more accessible and effortless by practising Pilates. Some people like it because it can promote deeper breathing, others love the strengthening and stretching benefits of this workout. For me it is my passion for movement.

My more recent training includes Stott Pilates for Pre- and Post-Natal Women, Stott Pilates for Injuries, together with the Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Course in Apparatus Pilates. I am a qualified gym instructor and personal trainer, and hold a bachelor’s degree from the Hungarian University of Physical Education.
